For Schools

MTA has been providing unrivalled performing arts services for schools since 1981.

We provide exceptional teachers and facilitators with extensive experience in education, delivering a vibrant menu of interactive workshops, Artists in Role experiences, and PPA arts cover designed to support National Curriculum topics. MTA also supplies specialist teachers for Dance, Drama, Music and Musical Theatre lessons, alongside a varied programme of school shows, including issue-based plays and pantomimes.

PPA & Enrichment: Facilitators in Role

MTA can provide your school with specialist practitioners for PPA cover or enrich your timetable with exciting, practical sessions that offer genuine educational value within and beyond the curriculum. We are a first choice across the North West for Music, Drama, Musical Theatre and Dance provision. Every session is tailored to your school’s cross-curricular needs, and our professional approach ensures our teachers become a real asset to your school community.

Our renowned Artists in Role programmes bring learning vividly to life, helping children interact with and fully immerse themselves in a chosen topic. Pupils could meet Guy Fawkes, Florence Nightingale, or even help the famous Captain Dirk Apollo solve the maths, save his starship, and protect Earth from the Evil Diablo.

Shows, Extended School Programmes & Saturday Schools

MTA’s vibrant after-school clubs bring dance, drama and singing together in a fun, supportive environment where pupils can grow in confidence, develop new skills and enjoy the excitement of performing. Each club works towards an end-of-term performance for parents, family and friends, giving every child the chance to shine.

Schools can also choose Stageworks, our satellite performing arts academy designed to bring high-quality creative learning directly into your school. Alongside this, MTA offers a range of powerful issue-based plays that are interactive, engaging and tailored to young audiences. Many programmes include full-day options with practical workshops, and we regularly create bespoke productions on current issues for Health Authorities, the Police and groups of schools.

And for a festive favourite, MTA produces a traditional PANTO to tour schools across the North West every year — packed with energy, laughter and plenty of audience participation. Oh no you don’t… oh yes we do!
